After attaining his BS Economics from Wharton and MBA from NYU/Stern, Matt gave a year of service to his country as a VISTA Volunteer before embarking on a successful corporate career. Starting in the marketing department at H.J. Heinz, he then moved to Revlon where his career progression led to GM of a Canadian division. Matt was recruited away, by a former Revlon colleague to Oral B, shortly after it was acquired by Gillette, to start and run their first new products group.
Subsequent to starting his first recruiting/consulting business, Matt was recruited by a former boss at Revlon to start and run Dep’s Canadian hair care Division, until the successful acquisition by Henkel. He next accepted the challenge of Sr. VP Business Development at the New York Board of Trade, the US’s first commodity exchange, where his spearheading of electronic trading and paperless communication manifest in both survival and the ultimate acquisition by ICE after the offices and trading floor at the WTC went down on 9/11.

After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Alan entered the actuarial profession, where he held a wide variety of jobs with both consulting firms and insurance carriers. During his 20+ year actuarial career Alan held various management positions at Towers Perrin, Berkshire Hathaway, Met Life and AXA. Alan’s career focused on product management and product development in both the domestic and international markets.
Alan brings a firsthand, broad-based knowledge of the marketplace, and uses his expertise to counsel candidates about current opportunities, and how best to leverage their past experience to realize career goals in either the insurance or global HR consulting arenas.
Alan previously served as a member of the SOA’s Management and Personal Development Committee, and is on the Board of Directors of the University of Pennsylvania Alumni Association of Westchester.
